Foreigner

Foreigner is one of the most popular American rock bands worldwide, formed in 1976. The group's visionary founder was guitarist Mick Jones who, in his search for a sound that blended elements of rock, R&B, and pop, met Ian McDonald (saxophonist), Dennis Elliott (drummer), Al Greenwood (keyboardist), Ed Gagliardi (bassist), and Lou Gramm (vocalist). Together, they formed Foreigner, signing a contract with Atlantic Records. The rockers have sold over 75 million copies of their albums throughout their career.

The first LP was released in 1977, titled with the band's name. Thanks to the success of the tracks "Feels Like the First Time," "Long, Long Way From Home," and "Cold As Ice," the album went 5 times platinum. The second album, Double Vision, was released the following year. For six months, the album was among the top ten best-selling albums worldwide. One of the album's highlights was the song "Hot Blooded."

Following these came the albums Head Games in 1979, 4 – which reached number one on the Billboard charts – in 1981, Agent Provocateur – an album that includes the famous hit "I Want to Know What Love Is" from 1984, and "Inside Information," released in 1987.

Although they were successful as a band, vocalist Lou Gramm decided to pursue a solo career. To contribute vocals, Foreigner hired Johnny Edwards, who had a brief stint with the group. From this partnership came the album Unusual Heat in 1991. However, it was not as well-received by the public.

The LP Mr. Moonlight was the new release of 1995, featuring new collaborators Bruce Turgon and Jeff Jacobs – bassist and keyboardist, respectively. The album also included a guest appearance by Lou Gramm, who left the band permanently in 2003.

In 2005, the musicians gained Kelly Hansen as the official vocalist of the group and, in 2009, released a new album titled *Can't Slow Down*. The album reached the 29th position on the Billboard 200. The main singles are "When It Comes to Love" and "In Pieces". Currently, Foreigner consists of Mick Jones, Tom Gimbel, Jeff Pilson, Kelly Hansen, Michael Bluestein, Chris Frazier, and Bruce Watson. They perform in various countries playing the band's greatest hits.
